Business Cases

A general definition of business case is ‘the application of a process of business reasoning, consistently, to a series of alternatives, to allow for the presentation of a clearly supportable and optimal solution’.

These business cases follow ‘Strategic Options Analyses’ in the previous section, used on bigger and more complex projects and initiatives; these business cases can be applied to ‘project’, ‘process’, ‘component’ or ‘R & M’ levels; the objective is to analyze a pre-determined series of possible options so as to allow the choice of the best option.

I have extensive experience in the preparation, review, and training aspects of business case methodology. At this stage of my life, I enjoy a facilitative role in guiding groups working in this area, assisting in clarifying the various process steps, in order to arrive at the optimal and most collaboratively satisfying solution.
